The Detective Bureau is supervised by Division Chief Dan Gebo and is comprised of 20 Detectives who are tasked with the investigation of crimes that occur within the City of Mishawaka and St. Joseph County. The Detective Bureau has four sub-divisions:
- Street Crimes Unit
- Special Victims Unit
- Major Crimes Unit
- Cold Case Homicide Unit
All criminal cases filed through the Mishawaka Police Department are referred to the Detective Bureau where they are reviewed and handled on a case-by-case basis.
The Mishawaka Detective Bureau couldn't solve crime without the cooperation of citizens that have information leading to the arrest and conviction of person(s) involved in criminal activities.
