The Parks and Recreation Department will be holding a public input session to explore the size, location, and amenities of a proposed small dog area within the existing fence of the Dog Park located at Prickett Marina Park. The session is open to all interested users of the facility, and will be held in the basement of the Battell Community Center in the Community Room on Thursday, July 19th at 7:00 p.m. A comment form with additional info is available here and can be turned in at the meeting or mailed to Battell Center at the address below.
 

CALLING ALL GIRLS!!  The Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana are holding a FREE 4-week program at the Battell Community Center.  The program, Artist Within, is open to girls of ALL AGES at NO COST and will be held Thursday July 5,12,19, and 26th from 2:00-3:00pm.  The Series focuses on the girls being creative through art, dancing, creative writing and performing. The program builds self-esteem and teaches about diversity and working together.  Come and find your artist within!

Mishawaka Parks offers several locations to help you keep cool during the dog days of Summer.  We have two pools, Merrifield and Mary Gibbard, four splash pads (located at Battell, Crawford, Rose and Twin Branch Parks) and a Cooling Center, Battell Community Center.  The splash pads and pools provide the community with cool, wet fun as well as relief from the heat.

The City of Mishawaka and the Mishawaka Parks & Recreation  Department will be hosting fireworks in the park on Thursday, July 5^th.   Meet us at Beutter Park at 6:30 PM for our regularly scheduled concert and then hang out a while longer!  Everyday People will be performing all the way up until fireworks time!  Enjoy concessions and beverages from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM and then watch the night sky light up!  Free parking available within walking distance. Fireworks provided by Night Magic.
