First Time Homebuyer Program Groundbreaking Ceremony

Members of the City of Mishawaka Common Council and the City of Mishawaka Redevelopment Commission joined Mayor Dave Wood to participate in a groundbreaking ceremony for the City of Mishawaka’s 2011 First Time Homebuyer Program. The groundbreaking took place on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 611 E. Third Street, across from Mishawaka City Hall.

Arbor Day Celebration

On Friday, April 29, 2010, the City of Mishawaka joined the School City of Mishawaka to celebrate National Arbor Day at Rose Park in Mishawaka. First and Second grade students from Emmons Elementary School presented a short program and planted white pine trees in the park. In addition, every fifth grade student in Mishawaka will receive a white pine tree seedling to plant at home along with planting and care instructions.

Welcome New Assistant Police Chief

Mayor Dave Wood and Police Chief Ken Witkowski announced today the appointment of Dan Gebo to the position of Assistant Police Chief-Investigative Division of the Mishawaka Police Department. Gebo replaces Mike Samp, who resigned as Chief of the Investigative Division on April 11th. Samp held the Assistant Chief post since he was appointed on June 11, 2002.

Walking Lincoln Highway

On Thursday, April 21, 2011 Mayor David Wood and students from Twin Branch Elementary School and Beiger Elementary School in the City of Mishawaka joined Jeff Blair to walk with him as he walked the Mishawaka section of the Indiana Lincoln Highway from the Ohio border heading east of Fort Wayne to Dyer, Indiana.
