Preventing Frozen Water Pipes

As extreme temperatures are approaching the area, the City of Mishawaka is asking homeowners to take preventative measures to help protect water pipes and meters from freezing.

Christine Jamrose Appointed Engineering Director

Mayor Dave Wood has announced that Christine Jamrose has been appointed to the position of City Engineer/Director of Engineering, effective December 1, 2016. Ms. Jamrose is replacing Gary West who retired November 30th after a 32-year career with the City of Mishawaka as Director of Engineering.

Winterfest 2016 At Merrifield Complex -- Dec 16

The annual Winterfest event will take place on Friday, December 16th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Merrifield Park Complex. This is a free, family-friendly experience that includes ice skating, horse-drawn carriage rides, a visit with Santa, an outdoor Christmas movie around a bonfire, crafts, light refreshments and more.

Mishawaka Fire To Distribute Smoke Alarms

The Mishawaka Fire Department is partnering with the American Red Cross to visit the Mishawaka neighborhood of Normain Heights and surrounding areas on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 starting at 11:00 am to install free smoke alarms in homes that need them and teach people about what they can do now to be prepared should a fire break out in their home.
