Mishawaka Mayor David Wood has announced the opening, ribbon cutting and naming of the recently completed landscaped parkway connecting Capital Avenue (SR 331) at milepost 83 of the Indiana Toll road with Fir Road. The ceremony will take place on Thursday April 16, 2015 at 3:00pm at the east end of the parkway at the corner of Capital Avenue and the parkway entrance. This roadway will serve as a new gateway into the north side of Mishawaka and was made possible by the donation of over eleven acres of right-of-way for the construction of the 4,000 foot long parkway.
Mayor David Wood today announced that the Mishawaka Street Department will be picking up leaves for one week, starting Monday, April 20, 2015. This means that Mishawaka residents may begin raking leaves to their curbside for a Monday, April 20th pickup which will continue for a one week period only, through Friday, April 24th.
Mishawaka Utilities Water Division will begin the spring flushing of the fire hydrants on Monday, April 13th.
Mishawaka’s 66th annual Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 25, 2015, beginning at 9:30 A.M. The theme for the 2015 Memorial Day Parade will be "Honor the Fallen, Heal the Wounded”. The parade will begin at Third and Main Streets and it will turn left at Mishawaka Ave. and end at Battell Park.
